Austin & Ally

Austin & Ally is an American sitcom which first aired on the Disney Channel on December 2, 2011. The series was created by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, the writers and producers of the Disney Channel sitcoms Sonny with a Chance and Jonas.

The series follows the partnership between polar opposites — Austin Moon, an extroverted musician/singer, Ally Dawson, a brilliant yet shy songwriter and their two best friends, Trish and Dez. Unbeknownst to Ally, Austin and Dez "borrow" one of her songs, record it, create a video and post it on the Internet, after which it and Austin become a local internet sensation. When Trish convinces Ally to tell the world she wrote the song, Austin pleads with her to write another hit for him. Instead, the two combine their talents to create a true musical tour-de-force.

RG's Views

This is my favorite teen comedy. It's aimed at a young demographic but I'm a sucker for this format. Shy girl meets the cool guy, throw in some singing and I'm yours. Not to mention that it's funny and bright. Great pick me up at the end of a bad day.

To raise money for Ally's charity, Austin agrees to be in a date auction. Dez says that he thought Ally would be upset at Austin going on a date with another girl, even though she said they are 'just friends'. But then a girl pledges $3,000 to go on a date with Austin, Ally gets into the auction herself. Ally pledges $3,001 to go on a date with Austin but gets beaten by the same girl pledging $5,000. Later, Austin is dancing with the girl and Ally is jealous, so the only way to cut the dance short was for Dez to spin Ally out of control. Brooke tries to sabotage Austin's dance as well. Note: Austin pledges that Ally should see other people.
