Russell Johnson, Professor from ‘Gilligan’s Island’ Dies at 89

Russell David Johnson (November 10, 1924 – January 16, 2014) was an American television and film actor, best known for his role as "The Professor" on the CBS television sitcom Gilligan's Island.

 Johnson published his memoirs, Here on Gilligan's Isle. He died from kidney failure at his home in Bainbridge Island, Washington, on January 16, 2014, at the age of 89. His death makes only two original cast members of Gilligan's Island, Tina Louise and Dawn Wells, still alive.

Partridge Family star Dave Madden dies, aged 83



David Joseph "Dave" Madden (December 17, 1931 – January 16, 2014) was a Canadian-born American actor. His most famous role came in the 1970s sitcom The Partridge Family, in which he played the group's manager, Reuben Kincaid. Madden later had a recurring role as diner customer Earl Hicks on the mid-1970s to mid-1980s sitcom, Alice.

Madden died on January 16, 2014 in Jacksonville, Florida, where he was receiving hospice care; of complications of myelodysplastic syndrome. He was 82.
