Classic sitcom done well. This was a staple of my childhood. I don't know who could sit down to an episode of the Jeffersons and not love it. And just try not to sing along to the theme song.

Sailor Moon

Sailor Moon, known in Japan as Pretty Soldier Sailormoon or Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi. Fred Patten credits her with popularizing the concept of a team of magical girls, and Paul Gravett credits the series with revitalizing the magical girl genre itself. Sailor Moon redefined the magical girl genre, as previous magical girls did not use their powers to fight evil, but this has become one of the standard archetypes of the genre. Sailor Moon is the North American dub of the Japanese anime "Bishôjo senshi Sailor Moon". Sailor Moon was originally a Japanese comic(manga), spun off from the comic: Codename wa Sailor V.  It was then turned into the anime we watch today!
The magical action-adventures of a teenage girl who learns of her destiny as the legendary warrior Sailor Moon and must band together with the other Sailor Soldiers to defend the Earth and Galaxy.

Sailor Moon was my first anime series, before I even knew what anime was. I can't say that I have watched many more of the genre. But this remains a series that I loved. It was the first kid's show I ever saw that depicted LGBT characters. I loved the whole concept of the show. I first watched the show in it's English dubbed version and I have to say it's my preference, though purests will tell you that all anime needs to be watched in the original Japanese.

I hear that they are planning a reboot which would be awesome. I'd love to see what they could do in a more progressive time.

Dawson's Creek

Dawson's Creek is an American teen drama television series created by Kevin Williamson which debuted on January 20, 1998, on The WB and was produced by Sony Pictures Television. The program, part of a new craze for teen-themed movies and television shows in America in the late 1990s, catapulted its leads to stardom and became a defining show for The WB. The series ended on May 14, 2003.
Set in a small coastal, Massachusetts town named Capeside, Dawson's Creek tells the story of four teenagers as they struggle through adolescence. This is particularly true for 15-year-olds Dawson Leery, an introspective dreamer Joey Potter, a precocious tomboy unaware of her beauty. Best friends since childhood, they are about to enter that confusing time in life where nothing is the way it was and nothing is as it seems.

 RG's Views:
Dawson's creek was another of those shows that helped define a generation. Up until then I'm not sure any teenagers ever had use for such profound vocabularies. Probably hasn't happened since either. But the show never failed to bring a tear or a smile or an wistful moment of awe. There was a character everyone could relate too. Sometimes you hated them, but yet you still always loved them.
And over the years we saw lots of guests stars and recurring characters, that have since gone on to be some of the big faces of tv and movies.

The finale of this series is not one I am overly fond of. First they did that thing I hate most in a series, the time jump. If it isn't about time travel, then please do not skip years in the lives of my favorite characters and expect me to be ok with it. And I just didn't feel it needed to happen here. I won't reveal the major plot points of the finale for those that may not have caught it the first time around, but it was a controversial ending that left lots of fans shaking their fists at the tv gods in fury, while others rejoiced. But at least we got an ending. And if not pleased at the choices at least, satisfied that the questioned were resolved.

Road to Avonlea

Road to Avonlea is a Canadian television series first broadcast in Canada between January 7, 1990 and March 31, 1996, and in the United States starting on March 5, 1990. It was created by Kevin Sullivan and produced by Sullivan Films (later Sullivan Entertainment) in association with CBC and The Disney Channel, with additional funding from Telefilm Canada.
It was adapted from the following books by L.M. Montgomery (author of Anne of Green GablesThe Story Girl, The Golden Road, Chronicles of Avonlea and Further Chronicles of Avonlea.
The King family have lived in a small farming community called Avonlea on Prince Edward Island for generations. In the early 1900's, the eldest of the five King siblings, Hetty, oversees the goings-on in the family and ensures everything runs to her high and rigid standards. Eldest brother, Alec, and his family run the King farm. Youngest sister Olivia, who still is treated as the baby by the others despite being a grown woman, is the third of the siblings still living in Avonlea. Two additions from the King family arrive somewhat unexpectedly to stay on the King property, one being Andrew King, the son of third eldest Roger, who is off traveling the world as a renowned geologist. The other arrival is Sara Stanley, the only daughter of fourth eldest but deceased Ruth, who was the rebellious one in the family. Before Sara's arrival in Avonlea, the Stanleys were estranged from their Avonlea King relations. Sara is sent to stay with her relatives because her father, Blair Stanley, wants to protect her from a potential scandal he is facing associated with his business in Montréal. Sara in particular will have to make many adjustments from her privileged Montréal life to survive emotionally in rural Avonlea without her father.
The show's focus shifted over the years from Sara's interactions with her new-found relatives, to stories about the King family. Later seasons of the show focused more on residents of Avonlea who were connected to the King family. Sarah Polley left the show in 1994, returning for one guest appearance in the 6th season and one in 7th season.

Beautifully filmed and wonderful character portrayals, make this a truly enduring series. It's a glimpse into our history that leaves you truly caring about these characters and this beautiful town of Avonlea.

Everwood was a truly great family drama. It had all the great small town antics that I relate to being from one myself. It was a staple of the WB which I pretty much loved all the programming they offered. It developed very well from this troubled little family to a big extended cast of the whole town.  Sadly they didn't get to have a truly good send off, but being notified that the show was not going to be renewed, they managed to add extra footage to the final episode which left us with a satisfying ending. It is very much worth the watch.

I dare you to find a kid of the 90's who didn't watch Full House. Even today, when an episode comes up on TV, I can't help but stop and watch the antics of the Tanner clan. There was just something about that extended family that made you want to be a part of it. Does it stand the test of time? Well the fashion trends certainly don't. Some of the plots would probably seem pretty tame by the standards of today's family programming. But maybe that's what I like aout it. It was just a lot of innocent fun. Where even the dramatic moments were still pretty light. And always funny.

Very good fantasy drama. I wondered how they would make the supernatural element work, considering that it's parent show (PLL), is not fantasy based. But I think it does a good job of making it believable. And it still has that same tension that PLL is known for so it keeps the shows feeling linked. I'm sorry this one won't get to continue. Hopefully we at least get Caleb back on PPL.
