Awkward. is an American television series and MTV's new comedy/drama series that premiered on July 19, 2011. MTV is airing 12 episodes of the half-hour series. MTV renewed the series for a fourth season on August 5, 2013 with new showrunners, Chris Alberghini and Mike Chessler, to replace creator and former showrunner, Lauren Iungerich.
The series is based around social outcast Jenna Hamilton, who, following a silly accident that rumors misconstrue as a suicide attempt, starts being noticed by all the students at her school. By making changes and embracing her misfortune, she becomes well-known by her peers. While having to deal with a new, not-so-fun stigma, she still has to manage the daily drama that comes with being a teenager.

RG's Views
This is one of the best shows no one is talking about. It has it's crass moments, but it's done in a way that's very forgiving. Again it does my shipper heart good. I'm loving the love triangle. And I totally relate to the outcast dealing with the mean girls.

Jenna is upset over Matty asking Bailey to prom. She finds solace in a self-discovery novel that was written by none other than Mr. Hart. Later, Jenna finds out that Bailey actually said no to Matty because of her and in a moment of selflessness, she gets Bailey and Matty to agree to go to prom together, despite still longing for Matty. Meanwhile, Jake is tired of feeling controlled by Tamara and Ming is stressed over having to lose her virginity to Fred on prom night. Sadie also finds herself falling in love with Austin. Jenna takes a break from her homework to head to the prom alone, where she dances with Matty before finally finding inspiration for her essay.
